Lowering Standards

Oh Gaston, you must truly care for each and every individual flower,  
as you go after them all, one by one, on the same day... *unimpressed look, sarcasm filled voice* 

People have been asking me for a fair long while now when Gaston is going show an interest in Belle. And I had been thinking about it but, in the context of the AU Gaston falling for Belle made no sense. He’s a shallow brute who, in their movie, only wanted belle ‘cuz she was “the prettiest” and therefore ”the best” in the village in his opinion.
 

Belle wouldn’t be “the best” in this AU according to the greatly shallow ass-hat that is Gaston. There are so many prettier and richer and more popular girls than Belle.
I had to have a little think about it.

He’s not going to like being rejected by “what he settled for”. Cue entitled man rage.  
 No one gets rejected like Gaston...

I didn’t even mean to do it this time, and then when I noticed, I just ran with it. Not sorry.
